SoftGiken Co., Ltd. (President: Norio Fujita, established in 1983) is pleased to announce that the two-factor authentication service "YubiOn Porta" will begin supporting fingerprint authentication using the authentication device "ATKey.Pro" on July 29, 2024.

SoftGiken's cloud service "YubiOn Portal" is an authentication security solution that uses the authentication device "YubiKey" to provide two-factor authentication for PC login. It features integrated management and immediate updates on the management web.
The authentication device "YubiKey" is an excellent key device with a proven track record and recognition both in Japan and overseas. It offers simple operability (connect to USB and touch) and high-security strength. However, while it provides a high level of user experience (UX), it cannot identify individuals. In terms of multi-factor authentication requirements, it only satisfies the possession of a key.
Some customers have requirements for biometric authentication due to their internal security policies, and in some cases, we are unable to meet all of their needs.
We are now offering the custom firmware version "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model", which was jointly developed with AuthenTrend, the manufacturer of the fingerprint authentication device "ATKey.Pro". Combining this with the YubiOn Portal enables personal authentication using biometric information, which was not possible before, further increasing security.

[Simple operability]
The "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" now allows fingerprint authentication while still maintaining the same operability - a simple touch.

The fingerprint sensor of the "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" boasts high accuracy, with a matching speech of less than 1 second, a FAR (False Acceptance Rate) of less than 1/50,000, and an FRR (False Rejection Rate) of less than 2% (※AuthenTrend official announcement).
This allows for quick and accurate fingerprint authentication. So it can be used without interfering with end-user operations.
[Safe management of biometric information]
Users have to register fingerprints to the "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" in advance. So that only the user who registered the fingerprint can use the key. This prevents unauthorized use by third parties in the event of key loss, allowing for safer operation.
The "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" safely stores registered fingerprint information inside the device. So there is no need to worry about biometric information leaking due to external access.
When using the fingerprint sensor of the PC, it is necessary to re-register the fingerprint when using another PC. However since the "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" is portable, there is no need to re-register the fingerprint when using it on another PC, which reduces the labor cost.
[Flexible selection of authenticators]
The "YubiKey" can still be used as before. So customers can choose the authenticator that best suits their needs.
It is also possible to use a mixture of authenticators. For example, regular users can use the "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" and for shared devices, they can use the "YubiKey" as a shared key. Flexible operation is possible for various scenarios.
[Integrated management via the management web]
Supports integrated management via the management web, a feature of the YubiOn Portal.
The information of the registered "ATKey.Pro YubiOn Model" can be checked from the management web screen and information can be deleted or changed from anywhere at any time.
It also supports an emergency logon function and allows quick operation from the management web, such as enabling users to temporarily log on without a key when they have forgotten it.
